Fees and Rebates
Standard Fees
Our fees vary depending on the counsellor and range from $144 (concession rate) to $224 per hour.
We have HICAPS and Medicare processing facilities and process rebates on the spot. Appointments are for 55 minutes.
Medicare and Private Health rebates are available with our fully registered Psychologists and some of our Senior Counsellors. Please see the individual team member profiles for the rebates available.
COUPLES
Our fees for couples are slightly higher than for individual appointments. Appointments are for 55 minutes and the first appointment is for 85 mins. We have found this allows us to obtain the background information and start the action phase in the first session. The fee for 85 minutes is 1.5 times the standard fee. After the first appointment couples have a choice for further appointments of either 55 or 85 minutes.
CONCESSION RATES
Concession rates are available for individual appointments with a limited choice of counsellors where there is genuine financial hardship (daytime appointments only). The approximate out of pocket rate for concession card holders with a Mental Health Plan is between $55 and $75.
Our Principal Psychologists & Director do not offer concession rates. We do not offer Bulk Billing.
To obtain a concession rate you require a Centrelink issued Concession Card .
WORKCOVER & NDIS
We are registered with Workcover providers. If you are eligible for counselling under Workcover we will invoice your provider directly. Depending on the practitioner, there is a gap payment of between $20 and $40 per session payable at each appointment. This will be explained when booking your initial appointment.
We welcome NDIS clients and will liaise with the funding provider on your behalf. There are no out-of-pocket expenses under the NDIS.
We do not directly invoice other third-party providers including TAC. VOCAT & My Aged Care. For clients with TAC, VOCAT or My Aged Care funding you will be required to pay at the time of your appointment then claim your fee yourself with your provider.
MEDICARE REBATES
Medicare rebates are available for counselling by registered Psychologists and Mental Health Social Workers under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. To access the Medicare Rebate, you need your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician to complete a detailed Mental Health Assessment and prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan before referring you to our practice. The rebate amount varies and we will inform you of this amount when you book an appointment. In general, out of pocket expenses range from $55 to $110 for a 55 minute appointment. In most cases, Medicare Rebates can be processed on the spot with the funds transferred directly into your bank account.
PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE REBATES
Our psychologists are registered with all private health insurers. If your insurer covers you under ‘extras cover’, you may be entitled to a rebate. We recommend you check with your insurer about the rebate you will receive as this varies between insurers and level of cover. Please note: not all of our Senior Counsellors offer private health rebates. Please see the individual profiles for more details.
